Privacy Policy

Food diary entries: product and meal names, nutritional values (calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates), portion sizes, and timestamps of every entry you log — manually, via search, or using the AI label scanner.

Body metrics you voluntarily provide — weight, height, age, gender, and nutrition goals — to calculate your personal calorie target. If you use a connected smart scale (e.g., Xiaomi Mi Scale), weight data may sync automatically via Bluetooth.

Health data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) — only if you explicitly grant permission: steps, activity, calories burned, and workouts. This data is used solely to reflect activity in your diary and is never shared with third parties.

Account information: the email address and display name you used to register. No password is required — sign-in uses a one-time code (OTP).

Streak and activity data: daily logs of completed meals, streak history, personal records, and earned badges.

Social data: your display name and streak data visible to friends you have added. There are no public profiles — only people you invite.

Anonymized usage analytics via PostHog, such as feature interaction events and session durations. This data cannot identify you personally and is used solely to improve the app. You may opt out at any time in Settings.

Technical device data (OS version, app version, crash reports) via Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics — for diagnostic purposes only.

To power the core features of Ruhvo: logging meals, calculating macros, maintaining streaks, and generating your personalized dashboard.

To compute daily and weekly nutrition summaries: macronutrient breakdowns, calorie balance, weight trends, and progress toward your goal.

To run the AI label scanner: images you submit are processed through Google Cloud Vision and a language model solely to extract nutritional values. Images are not stored.

To manage your streak history and, where enabled, send push notifications: meal reminders and streak-at-risk alerts.

To personalize your experience based on the goals and dietary preferences you share with us.

To show your streak and achievements to friends you have added in the app.

To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data and identify areas for product improvement.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party, under any circumstances.

PostHog: anonymized event analytics, processed and stored in the EU under GDPR-compliant terms. No personal data is transmitted.

Google Cloud Vision: label images sent via the AI scanner are passed to Google for text recognition. Images are processed in real time and are not retained by Google after processing.

Firebase (Google): used for push notifications and native crash reporting via Crashlytics, in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

Sentry: technical error data (stack traces, app versions) for crash diagnostics. Personal information is automatically masked.

Resend: transactional email delivery (OTP codes, notifications). Only your email address is shared with this provider.

Your food diary, body metrics, and personally identifiable information are never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners.

Should we ever be legally compelled to disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities, we will inform you promptly and transparently, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

All user data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted within the European Union, ensuring compliance with GDPR.

Data transmitted between your device and our infrastructure is protected using TLS 1.3.

Apple HealthKit and Health Connect data is stored only on your device and in our database — not in Apple's or Google's cloud.

We enforce strict access controls, conduct regular security audits, and maintain encrypted storage for all sensitive data.

Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Access & Export: you may request a full export of your personal data — food diary, body metrics, and account details — at any time via the app or by emailing us.

Deletion: you may delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app.

Correction: your profile details, food logs, and body metrics can be updated at any time within the app.

Revoke health permissions: you may revoke access to Apple HealthKit or Health Connect at any time in your device's system settings.

Opt-out of analytics: you may disable anonymized analytics collection at any time in Settings → Privacy, without affecting core functionality.

Opt-out of notifications: manage push notifications in the app settings or your device's system settings.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Ruhvo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If you believe a child has created a Ruhvo account, please contact us at support@ruhvo.app and we will delete the account and all associated data.
